1:44 pm	more about the show I've put the show into repeats until September. By that point, I may have another 6-12 new shows that can be aired in a row. Basically, I needed some time to think about the show. As a matter of fact, it looks like I've got enough material for another year - but we'll see. Aw hell, I'm always finding new stuff to play, so it should be fine. But anyway, no more playlists will be posted until maybe September, cos no new shows til then. (Comment on this)

4:45 pm	Sean Kennedy's ten rules for living From, I dunno, show #196 of Newsreal or something like that. In the 190s, anyway. Thought I'd write them down, cos they are pretty useful. Then decided to post them here, along with some commentary. 1. Always be ready to die. His point is, don't leave your life in such a state that, if you die today, you'll die disappointed with something. Not much to disagree with. 2. Never purchase anything that you can't carry, or that can't carry you. Sort of seems like a simplification-of-life thing. Certainly we've all got more junk and shit than we need. Buddy of mine has his whole life in a duffelbag, and sure, that can simplify things. 3. Never let someone else tell you what you need to be happy. Seems like a "when you grow up, you'll realize" type of truth. Decide who you are on your own merits, and then figure out for yourself what you need. Quit letting other people tell you who you are and what you're supposed to do - but, at the same time, that requires enough self-understanding to determine for yourself who the hell you are. 4. Make every action your only action. As in, concentrate on what you're doing. Don't do anything half-assed. 5. Use the right tool for the right job. Pretty self-explanatory, I hope. If you're going to do something, figure out what tool actually does the job, and do it. A related Sean Kennedy idea along the same line, from "Patrolling", is to ask, regarding things you might want to buy: "what does it do, and how well does it do it?" As in, if you're buying footwear, are you looking to buy footwear that actually covers your feet and will continue to do so for more than a few weeks? Or are you, for example, buying footwear at an inflated price so you can fit in with some fucking mass-marketed counterculture? Or even some niche "underground" counterculture? 6. Protect the weak, but do not encourage weakness. Probably the closest he gets to Satanism. I think he's just trying to be a hero. I'd rather just shorten it to "don't encourage weakness" and leave it at that. It simplifies your life when you just cut out that fucking sissy who's always complaining to you about shit he's not going to do anything about. 7. Make a study of war, maintenance, and reading. War: needed to survive. Maintenance: needed for self-reliance. Reading: needed for improving your level of knowledge. 8. Forgive as much as you can. Again, I don't agree too much, but then again, I can see how easy it is to waste your time pissed off at past slights. So sure, agreed, forgive as much as you can - but at the same time, it's important to keep a long memory. If someone did something once, ten years ago, it still informs who they are, and you're a sucker for forgetting about it. So, forgive, don't forget. 9. Destroy evil. Pretty nebulous, there. 10. Never trust anything you can't verify. Pretty simple, there. I'd maybe post my own 10 rules for living, except I don't have them, and it'd be really pompous to post about myself anyway.
